Product description
Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is the most common supplement in cell culture. The use of this serum in specific concentrations provides various compounds required for cell cultures such as growth factors as well as some unknown compounds. Heating serum under highly controlled conditions can inactivate various inhibitors of cell growth and factors that could interfere with immunoassays. Heat inactivation is recommended for serum used in embryonic stem cell culture to maintain long-term viability. This product is heat inactivated.
Hints
- Pay attention to product storage conditions.
- Do not use the product after the expiry date.
- To avoid contamination, use a suitable cover (gloves, mask, and sanitary cap) when working.
- In the case of using the product in several steps, it’s recommended to fill the remaining medium in 50ml sterile tubes and close tightly for avoiding from contamination and freeze-thawing.

FBS product
FBS GIBCO هنگامی که در 2-8˚C نگهداری می شود پروتیین ها و لیپوپروتیین های مختلفی در سرم ( برای مثال آگلوتنین های سرد، فیبرینوژن، ویترونکتین) ممکن است جمع شوند و مواد و کدورت های قابل مشاهده ای تشکیل دهند; اگرچه، این نباید بر روی عملکرد FBS تاثیر بگذارد. ما پیشنهاد می دهیم که FBS را در -20˚C نگهداری کنید و از تکرار چرخه یخ زدگی و ذوب شدن آن خودداری کنید.
لخته ممکن است به دلایل مختلفی در FBS ظاهر شود. معمول ترین علت آن دناتوراسیون لیپوپروتیین های سرم می باشد. ممکن است شما فیبرین، پروتیین تشکیل دهنده لخته، را بعد از ذوب شدن سرم مشاهده کنید.این نباید بر روی عملکرد FBS تاثیر بگذارد.
برای حذف لخته، FBS را داخل لوله های استریل منتقل کنید و مواد را به صورت مختصر در 400×g سانتریفیوژ کنید و سپس مواد رویی (سوپرناتانت) را همراه با محیط کشتتان فیلتر کنید. توجه: سرم دارای لخته را فیلتر نکنید چون ممکن است موجب گرفتی فیلترها شود.
